Investment Thesis
Capital for the Care Economy
We invest at the intersection of workforce housing, care infrastructure, and overlooked founders who are building the economic backbone of communities that sustain life.
Our Thesis
Proximity is the missing infrastructure of the care economy.
The care economy is the largest sector of the American economy: and the most underinvested. Djola Ventures builds the physical and economic infrastructure that allows care workers to live near the communities they serve, and care economy founders to build businesses rooted in place. We call this proximity as thesis: the belief that sustainable health, economic development, and community resilience all begin with who can afford to stay.

Three Pillars
What we build toward.
Workforce Housing
Affordable, dignified housing for the nurses, teachers, home health aides, and social workers who sustain community life: built in the places where they are needed most.
Care Economy Infrastructure
Physical and programmatic infrastructure: shared kitchens, childcare co-ops, wellness studios, community gathering spaces: that enables care economy businesses to launch and scale.
Founder Residency
Embedded residency programs for care economy founders, giving them the time, space, and community to build businesses that serve the people around them: not just the market.
The Model
Community ownership. Patient capital. Place-based returns.
Our projects are structured to deliver measurable community impact alongside financial returns. We partner with LPs, CDFIs, impact funds, and mission-aligned family offices who understand that the most durable returns come from communities that are genuinely invested in: not extracted from.

Creative Capital
Founder-friendly structures that keep wealth in community.
We believe the terms of capital are as important as the capital itself. Djola Ventures deploys creative financing structures designed to support founders without extracting them: keeping economic power with the people who built it and the communities that sustained it.
Revenue Share
Founders repay investment as a percentage of revenue: no fixed repayment schedule, no pressure to grow at the expense of the community. Returns scale with the business, not against it.
Milestone-Based Investment
Capital is deployed in tranches tied to community impact milestones: not just financial metrics. Founders receive support when they need it, structured around what actually matters.
Equity Buyback
Founders and community stewards have the right to buy back equity over time at pre-agreed terms. Ownership returns to the people closest to the work: not to distant investors.
